Employment
Due to the Foundation's expertise in working with young disabled
Chinese, the Foundation also provides assistance to physically-disabled
graduates.
The Foundation assists physically-disabled students to find useful,
meaningful careers. Our aim is to enable physically-disabled students
to become financially independent and to utilize their work skills
despite their physical limitations.
The Foundation works in partnership with the Guangzhou English
Training Center for the Handicapped(www.canpei.com). This well-known
center is affiliated with the prestigious Zhongshan University
and students are instructed in oral and written English as well
as advanced computer skills by Zhongshan University professors.
Chinese National law stipulates that 1.5 % of a company's workforce
must be comprised of people with disabilities. The Foundation
provides graduates from the center an intensive one-week job-training
program and helps graduates contact prospective companies. Several
graduates in recent years have been successfully recruited by
well-known corporations.
