We will raise awareness among China's top osteopathic specialists on treatment options for OI, through a symposium that the Foundation will sponsor. We will invite Dr., M.D., Director of Pediatric Bone Program at Center for Endocrinology, Disabetes and Metabolism at Childrens Hospital Los Angeles. Dr. Duke is a professor at UCLA Medical School and leading expert in OI.

To help enable parents, care-givers and medical specialists a better understanding of how to provide and take care of a child suffering from OI, the Foundation has translated 2 booklets published by the OI Foundation in the United States.

The 2 Booklets, Therapeutic Strategies for Osteogenesis Imperfeca and Caring for Infants and Children with Osteogenesis Imperfecta are distributed freely to parents and medical specialists who treat OI children in China.

This material has proved invaluable to parents and care-givers in preventing the frequency of fractures and in alleviating the suffering and distress following painful fractures.
